Verallia Design Awards’ Ukrainian Finale
The second Ukrainian edition of the Verallia Design Awards gathered 56 participants around the theme of “Creating the difference”. Once again, the contest was partnered by Nemiroff – Verallia’s vodka-producing customer.
Two projects picked up awards:
- In the “Alcoholic beverages” category: Autrement by Anna Homeniuk, from Lviv Polytechnic National University. This slender bottle with inner facets and a thick base adds a certain elegance to flavored spirits.
- In the “Food“ category: Frui by Antonina Kasyanova, from the National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic”. An external engraving adds thickness to the lower part of this bottle designed for fruit juice and a pair of cherries is etched into its body.
Since 2009, different Verallia subsidiaries have organized an annual design competition. In 2018, the Verallia Design Awards are organized in six countries: Ukraine, Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Portugal. Students and young art or design school graduates imagine, from a defined theme, an innovative type of glass packaging. The entrants receive support from Verallia’s teams to familiarize themselves with the glass material and its demanding industrial requirements.
